This means that a gas-powered model is more effective. It can get the job done twice or even three times as fast as its electric counterpart, making it ideal for ultra-challenging projects with grime that won’t budge.
Risks of Gas-Powered Models
While they’re more powerful, gas-powered pressure washers are not without their risks. In some cases, they can strip the paint off vinyl siding with a single application!
If you’re remodeling, this may be the look you’re after. However, you might prefer to preserve your paint in other cases. This kind of job is better suited for a gentler machine.
In addition, you’ll need to exercise additional caution and control over gas-powered pressure washers to make sure they don’t scratch wooden surfaces or cause additional damage.
Keep in mind that more power equals more noise, too. Gas-powered models produce around 85 decibels of sound, which is the recommended action level to prompt the use of hearing protection. Electric ones produce 78 decibels.
